'WHEN IT KICKS IN'  ALBUM PROJECT

This is an album project I worked on in a few different roles including mixing and design. When it kicks in is an album written by Danny Pape, with the music also 

AUDIO WORK

Using a hybrid set-up of Pro Tools and Logic pro I set up guide mixes with acoustic and lead vocals to allow for a basic skeleton of an album. As the music consisted of two musicians, we had to layer the audio instead of one takes. The biggest benefits with this method I feel is that it allows for more adaption and re-working, allowing new ideas to mutate and develop. We then developed electric drums and slowly layered from there. 

ALBUM COVER

For the album cover, I originally wanted to go for a uniform feel as we would have had multiple singles first and felt the continuity would create a stronger branding. This worked well, but I wanted to try a few other techniques. I used some images to create more photographic pieces before arriving at a college design style. For these pieces, I used a combination of Affinity Designer and Photo.
